This is my new-to-me 1973 Johnson 20. I traded a 1982 15hp long shaft that I wasn't using for this short shaft 20hp. It is mechanically sound but looks pretty rough. As you can see someone painted it very poorly with this gross green color.

I sanded it a little today while I was waiting on some carburetor parts to soak. (I hate sanding) I just used a little electric palm sander and got the big flat areas. I will have to go back and actually use sandpaper to get the rest when I have some time.  Im planning on repainting it to match my late 50s modified vhull and just use my 15 as a back up motor. (or as an option for another boat build im thinking about starting soon)

On the way:

5/8" Johnson style fuel line connection and new motor stand with wheels for easier transport of this heavy ass motor.

To be purchased:

Primer, 2 tone blue paints, spark plugs, propeller

Sanded a bunch today. Degreased the oily parts of the lower unit and some of the motor itself. Wiped the entire sanded surface down with acetone.
